...and a Healthy New Year!

Oh the holidays . . . the one time of year there is chocolate and other delightful little things laying around for display. Company comes and brings goodies, or you buy some to have around for visitors, and somehow it ends up there is always a little something around tempting you to have a taste. But, on the other hand, don’t you love how this occasion is immediately followed by the New Year and the opportunity and tradition of making our resolutions, it is just natural to follow the Christmas season with promises to eat better!

So off we go, resolving to start the New Year with a healthier lifestyle, and here is an idea to help jump start your healthier eating habits. Rather than attempting to follow a new diet, measure out ingredients, or purchase pre-made meals, how about just planning to eat real food? Eliminating processed food could be your new goal, and after you get a “taste” of it 😂, you will be surprised at how easy this “non-diet” can be, and, how much better your body will feel for it.

Meat, fruit, vegetables, seeds and nuts - there are SO many good recipes to be made from real food. So if you are thinking that this way of eating sounds boring, please keep reading, it is not boring, it is delicious! The health benefits are endless, you will feel better, your energy level will return, and, the list goes on. No, I’m not an accredited nutritionist, just speaking from experience, but there are better resources to learn more about the facts - check out the book It Starts With Food, and it will provide a deeper insight into the benefits of eating real food. There are many other good resources available to encourage your healthy eating style - a little research will reveal books, bloggers on social media, and beautiful pictures of healthy meals on instagram. So start your new year with a good read, an open mind for change, and a new way of eating that will optimize your health.
