Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Just a simple and tasty stir fry for a busy weeknight dinner! But, there is a little secret sauce that will step up your simple dish and make you a rock star cook! You will be glad you are eating at home rather than take out!

INGREDIENTS -

1 steak, sliced into bite size pieces (I used a New York strip, you could use just about any cut)
2 cups broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
1/3 cup onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger, minced or grated
2 Tbsp avocado oil
1/4 cup coconut aminos
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp honey, or date or maple syrup
1/4 cup vegetable broth
2 tsp tapioca flour, or other gluten free flour for thickening
Salt & Pepper
Toasted sesame seeds for topping, optional

Prepare the steak, broccoli, onion, garlic and ginger by slicing, dicing, and mincing. Dissolve the flour into 1/2 cup cold water and set aside. In a small bowl whisk together the coconut aminos, sesame oil, honey, and vegetable broth. And now you are ready to go . . .

Heat the avocado oil to medium high in a heavy skillet. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger, and stir fry for 4-5 minutes. Stir in the broccoli and continue cooking for about 5 minutes, then blend in the beef and stir fry until the meat is browned. Add in the vegetable broth sauce mixture and heat until the sauce is simmering. Stir in the flour mixture. The sauce should thicken within a couple of minutes and then it is ready to serve.

This could be served over rice, cauliflower rice, zucchini noodles, or just by itself is yummy too. Sprinkle the top with toasted sesame seeds if you wish.
